If you plan doing any serious editing in ZB you should retopo model, apply subdivisions and project from original scan. On objects usually 2 million polygons is more than enough i think. Usually i decimate in photoscan to a more managable 10 ml ploys before importing to Zbrush. Even the bit version which is supposed to be the more stable one. Zbrush has an option to send what you are working on into sculptris and then have sculptris send it right back�so in a way they are still somewhat integrated.
